Privacy Policy
Last updated February 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the maintainers of the Echo Discord bot ("we", "us") collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you interact with the bot, the accompanying console, and related services. By inviting or using Echo you consent to the practices described here. If you disagree, remove the bot and stop all use immediately.
Voice Channel Privacy
Echo interacts with Voice Channels using Ephemeral Real-Time Streaming.
No Storage
We do NOT record, save, or archive raw audio files. Audio is processed in RAM and discarded instantly.
Semantic-Only
Audio is converted to anonymous semantic vectors (meaning) instantly for reasoning.
Consent
Participation in an Echo-enabled voice channel constitutes consent for this ephemeral processing.
1. Information We Collect
Account & Server Data
- Discord user ID, username, avatar hash, and guild/server IDs where Echo is installed.
- Role or permission data required to validate command eligibility.
- Console account credentials and audit metadata (login timestamps, security events).
Interaction Content
- Message content, attachments metadata, and slash-command payloads sent to the bot.
- Generated AI responses and moderation flags associated with each exchange.
- Support tickets, feedback notes, or diagnostic logs you share through the console.
We may also collect device/browser information when you use the web console, including IP address, user-agent, and security telemetry for rate limiting.
2. How We Use Information
-
Operate core bot features, including AI chat completions, command handling, reminders, and console controls.
-
Secure accounts through authentication, rate limiting, fraud detection, and abuse prevention.
-
Improve product quality by reviewing anonymized logs, measuring feature usage, and testing new capabilities.
-
Respond to support requests, bug reports, and Trust & Safety escalations.
-
Comply with legal obligations, enforce the Terms of Service, and protect platform users.
3. Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We share data only with:
- Infrastructure providers (hosting, databases, monitoring) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality agreements.
- AI vendors that transform conversation content into responses. Inputs are limited to what is necessary for completion.
- Moderation & safety partners when investigating abuse, enforcing policies, or complying with Discord/Legal requests.
- Authorities or third parties when required by applicable law, regulation, subpoena, or to defend our rights.
Aggregated or de-identified statistics may be published for transparency without revealing individual users.
4. Retention & Security
We retain personal information only as long as needed to deliver the service, fulfill contractual or legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. Log data is routinely cycled and anonymized where feasible.
Security controls include encryption in transit, hashed credentials, access logging, and role-based controls in the console. No system is perfect, so you acknowledge residual risk when transmitting data online.
In the unlikely event of a data incident impacting your information, we will follow applicable notification requirements and share remediation steps.
5. Your Choices & Rights
-
You may disconnect the bot from a server at any time via Discord's integration settings.
-
Console administrators can delete their accounts through the reset/removal workflows or by contacting support.
-
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, or erase personal data, or to object to certain processing. Submit such requests through the official support channel; we will verify identity before acting.
-
If you opt out of diagnostic logging, some features (including safety systems) may be limited to protect other users.
6. International Data & Children
Echo infrastructure may be hosted in multiple regions. By using the bot you authorize cross-border transfers of your information to the countries where we or our providers operate.
The bot is not intended for users under 13 (or the minimum age required in their jurisdiction). If we learn that we processed data from a child without consent, we will delete it promptly.
7. Changes & Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect new features, legal requirements, or operational practices. Material changes will be announced via the console changelog or the official Discord server. Continued use after updates signifies acceptance.
Questions, data requests, or security disclosures can be submitted via the support ticket system in the Echo console or the contact method listed in the server's #support channel.
